Annual Beach BBQ

One of my favorite things about Michigan is the family BBQ on the beach. It's held when the most people are up and it means hot dogs and smores galore. Fun!
Jeanne and Susan even managed to get my 89 year old grandma in Lake Michigan. This is where Grandma almost fell. Whoops, must have picked the wrong picture.

Any day up here...

could go something like this...
Watching the sunset
Trying to get the oldest waverunner in the world to work...
Laughing at them trying to get it work...
Ok, so they got it to work...
Band concert fun
Walking by the yahts with a lot of wishful thinking
Not the waverunner thing again. This time Miles wants in...
Goofing off at the beach
Breakfast every morning...most likely blueberry something
Driving Adam's speedboat around
Enjoying the speedboat
card at night
Enjoying the beautiful scenery

Sailing fun

Brad has found a new love of sailing. It started last year and rolled onto this year. Miles seems to really love it too since all he wants to do is hold on to the ropes and steer. I like to just sit there and feel the breeze while someone drives me around.

Week 2

Today wraps up week 2 of Michigan. We've been having a whole lot of fun. Miles world has been wrapped around his 3 cousins, while my world is wrapped around telling him things like, "Stop throwing that off the balcony" "No elbowing" "I don't want to hear 'mine'." "Share!"
But, it's been great. Miles is going to be the most bored child when we get back to Germany because he is the celebrity amongst his cousins.
Here are some pics from this week:

Blueberry picking was great although this is the first time Miles or I have been. Miles stopped picking them off the trees once he learned that picking them out of the bucket was much easier.

Bathtime together was a hit as well. I'm sure this won't be the last time these monkey's bathe together.
Uncle Adam has been wonderful in helping me play "Daddy." Sometimes kids just need to hear that deep voice saying "Cut it out." Of course there's been plenty of fun in there too.

Last night I had the kids play "model" for me. Here is what we got:

Miles won't model for me so this one is a few days old, but still a favorite!

Tomorrow night is bingo night! These old people can play some mean, serious bingo and I like it! If it ever stops raining tonight then we'll try and head the band concert. I know I said it once, but I'll say it again... I love being home!
PS- anyone else's blog background saying it's going to be erased on Friday? Hmm... my page may be pretty plain for a while, but at least it will always have pics!
