Week 2

Today wraps up week 2 of Michigan. We've been having a whole lot of fun. Miles world has been wrapped around his 3 cousins, while my world is wrapped around telling him things like, "Stop throwing that off the balcony" "No elbowing" "I don't want to hear 'mine'." "Share!"
But, it's been great. Miles is going to be the most bored child when we get back to Germany because he is the celebrity amongst his cousins.
Here are some pics from this week:

Blueberry picking was great although this is the first time Miles or I have been. Miles stopped picking them off the trees once he learned that picking them out of the bucket was much easier.

Bathtime together was a hit as well. I'm sure this won't be the last time these monkey's bathe together.
Uncle Adam has been wonderful in helping me play "Daddy." Sometimes kids just need to hear that deep voice saying "Cut it out." Of course there's been plenty of fun in there too.

Last night I had the kids play "model" for me. Here is what we got:

Miles won't model for me so this one is a few days old, but still a favorite!

Tomorrow night is bingo night! These old people can play some mean, serious bingo and I like it! If it ever stops raining tonight then we'll try and head the band concert. I know I said it once, but I'll say it again... I love being home!
PS- anyone else's blog background saying it's going to be erased on Friday? Hmm... my page may be pretty plain for a while, but at least it will always have pics!

"Oh how I wish again...

...I was in Michigan." - Brad and I's theme song in life.

Miles and I made it safetly to the States and it feels goood to to be home. So far, I've spent way too much money at Wal Mart and eaten out way too many times at Arby's. Now, I get to do it all over again when Brad gets here next week.
I haven't been able to get on the internet much, so this explains the lack of blogging. But, I gotta say it's kinda nice to take a break from it all. Sometimes technology can be draining. I am loving the Mayberry feeling of this place. Here are some pics of our trip this first week.

Leave it to my Dad to put a fake squirrel on the porch. I thought this pic was hilarious.
We found an amazing petting zoo nearby. Miles loved feeding all the animals until a pony bit his hand a little too hard. We'll see if he forgets about it next week.
Ok, so you know what's great about this pic? My mom and I bought tickets to ride this stupid train thinking ALL the other parents would do the same. We obviously don't fit when we tried to sit down. (I still have bruises on my knees). The train starts moving and every single parent starts walking along side this train that is moving 1 mph. I could have walked on my hands faster than this train was moving. But, we sucked it up and stuck through the ride. Next time, we will not buy tickets for this child's ride.

Sadly, this picture is not the sunset. It is the sunrise. I was "fortunate" enough to be woken up the first 4 mornings to watch it. It is beautiful though!

If Miles could have a top 5 of Michigan, I'm positive that swimming in Bass Lake would make it on that list. He really enjoys participating in the "big kids" activities.

Miles gets a hair cut on the dock. I am going to try and brave a real haircut at Wal Mart before we leave. If I can quote my SIL, I plan to "throw them $20 at the end and never walk in that salon again." Miles does not do well with haircuts. Luckily feeding the fish distracted him long enough for a few snips.

Happy 4th!

Hope everyone enjoyed their 4th! We went to one of the local military bases and hung out with all our fellow Americans. It was fun! Brad was working nights though so it did put a small damper on things. I woke him up at 6pm and we rushed down there, did everything we possibly could in 2 hours, then rushed back just in time for him to put on in his cammies and rush to work. I really wish we could have stayed for the fireworks. I bet Miles would have loved it!

This is Miles best bud, Jonathan. Jonathan is wearing Miles summer clothes from last year. They are so cute together.
